The Avro 698 Vulcan is a British subsonic strategic bomber built at the Avro plant. The Vulcan is a metal delta mid-wing aircraft with no tail tail. The basic power unit was the systematically modernized four Bristol Siddeley Olympus engines. Avro Vulcan, along with the Vickers Aliant and Handley Page Victor bombers, belonged to the famous "V" series. The first flight of the prototype of Avro Vulcan machines took place on August 31, 1952, while the flight of the serial version took place in 1955, and the first deliveries to the linear units began in 1957, and the last Vulcan was delivered in 1965. A total of 134 copies of this aircraft were built. . The Vulcan was produced in two variants: B.1 and B.2-versions differed from each other mainly in the propulsion units and the size of the wings. It is worth noting that the impressive gray-green camouflage was only used from 1963, along with the change of the nature of the Vulcan mission. Instead of flying at high altitude, they were now to fly at low altitude. They were used only once in combat during the Falklands War in 1982. Technical data: Maximum speed: 1038 km / h, maximum ceiling 19812 m, maximum range: 7400 km, equipment: suspended - weighing up to 9534 kg.
