Elves is a fictional race of creatures that is attested primarily in Norse mythology, but is also well attested in German or Irish folklore. Currently, elves appear in many films and in the pages of numerous fantasy novels. In the world created by Tolkien in The Lord of the Rings, they are one of the most powerful and noble races in Middle-earth.
