Advanced Modeling AMC48018 FAB-500 M-54 High-Explosive 500 kg bomb set

The FAB-500 was a Soviet, military, airborne, general-purpose, World War II destroyer bomb weighing 500 kilograms. The length of the bomb was 214.2 cm with a diameter of 392 millimeters. The first FAB-500 designs were created during the First World War, but it was not until the next war that the weapon entered mass production, around 1940-1941. It is assumed that the bomb could penetrate approx. 1.5 meters of reinforced concrete, and its explosion caused a crater up to 12 meters in diameter and up to 4 meters deep. The explosive material was Torpex with the explosive power of about 50% greater than that of TNT. Interestingly, after the end of World War II, the FAB-500 bomb was not withdrawn from use, but was systematically modified. Modifications were mainly aimed at replacing the existing bomb body with a much more streamlined one and increasing the body's resistance to high temperatures. Thanks to the changes, the FAB-500 has become one of the most frequently used air bombs in the aviation of the USSR and the Warsaw Pact countries.
