The Yakovlev Yak-17 is a Soviet metal mid-wing jet fighter based on the Yak-15. The flight of the prototype took place in 1947, and production was carried out in the period 1948-1949. The Yak-17 had a redan construction, i.e. the engine was located at the front of the fuselage, in the nose of the aircraft, and the exhaust nozzle at the rear. The main difference between the Yak-15 and the Yak-17 was the use of the RD-10A engine in the latter. There were also differences in the chassis and the tail. There were only two main versions: the Yak-17 (hunting version) and the Yak-17UTI (two-seater training version). Technical data: length: 8.7 m, wingspan: 9.2 m, height: 2.3 m, maximum speed: 750 km / h, speed of climb: 12 m / s, practical ceiling: 12 750 m, maximum range: 400 km, armament: permanent- 2 cannons Nudelman-Suranov NS-23 cal 23mm.
