SUU-7 Dispenser is a suspended aviation container for US-made American Cold War cartridge ammunition. The presented container was intended primarily for carrying the BLU-3 / B subammunition, which was commonly known as "pineapple" (pl pineapple) due to its characteristic shape as it descended. A single BLU-3 / B missile was 170 mm high, 70 mm in diameter and weighed about 800 grams when dropped. Its warhead, in turn, weighed up to 160 grams. It was a sub-ammunition intended to combat the enemy's manpower, as well as unarmored vehicles. Principle of operation The SUU-7 was relatively simple. Before the mission, the container was suspended under the plane, and over the target, the pilot or armament operator opened the container from the rear part of which sub-ammunition was dropped. It is worth adding that the container itself was not dropped and returned to the base together with the plane. The presented container was used on a large scale during the Vietnam War of 1964 / 1965-1975.
