The Yakovlev Yak-1 is a Soviet, single-engine low-wing fighter with a classic tail with a mixed design from the Second World War. The Yak-1 gave rise to a whole family of fighters (Yak-3, Yak-7, Yak-9) and with them became the basic Soviet fighter in 1941-1945. Serial production continued in the 1940-1944 altos and resulted in the creation of 8,670 aircraft of this type. Yak-1 fought in almost all major battles of the Soviet-German war, especially in the counteroffensive near Moscow, the Battle of Stalingrad and the Battle of the Kursk Arch. The prototype, designated I-26, took to the air in January 1940. Serial production started in March of the same year. During the course of the war, several versions of this aircraft were created. The basic and first serial version was the Yak-1, the other was the Yak-1M - it was powered by the M-105PF engine and was characterized by a greater use of duralumin.
